MOTUS Machine Learning Hackathon
In November 2020, Geekulcha delivered a virtual, invitation-only Machine Learning Hackathon for South African automobile organisation MOTUS. The aim of the hackathon was to invite developers to interrogate MOTUS client data to identify trends and solutions that could potentially minimise the likelihood of future customers making the wrong car-buying decision, relating to their personality, lifestyle and budget.
The hackathon used a customised Virtual Desktop Interface to ensure protection of MOTUS data and intellectual property. 8 teams presented their solutions to a judging panel made up of industry and innovation experts from MOTUS, Kia, MTN, Old Mutual and CPSI, who assessed the solutions according to their Innovation and Novelty; Use of Data; Compliance; Insights and Analysis and Product fit. The three winning teams were invited to a second round of presentations with the potential of commercial opportunities.
